History of Mt. Pleasant
The Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren was established in the early 20th century in a small log building that was located at the same location as the present day church. Over the past 50 years Mt. Pleasant has steadily grown in membership and we now worship in a larger sanctuary capable of seating 250 individuals. The church supports a full-time pastor; Dan King, and music director; Donna Sampson, to lead us down the narrow path of Christianity.
Our church family is made-up of individuals of all ages from infants to elderly. We endeavor to minister to each individual as we are called to do as caring members of the body of Christ. We believe that our children are a heritage and a reward from the Lord and are to be nurtured and "trained up in the way they should go". During Sunday morning worship a nursery is provided if your child requires a safe place to stay as you worship and for the older children we provide childrens church which is a special service to reach out to children on their level. After service is our Sunday school programs which has classes for all ages.
Our congregation enjoys supporting foreign missions, we currently are most active in Haiti where we try to send a group from the church on a yearly basis. For local outreach, we are a welcoming community who places a high priority on strong family values. During the Christmas season as a congregation we put together a live nativity to reach out to families and friends who are from the outside community. We also produce some of the best chicken bbq in the valley. Check our events calendar for all the happenings at Mt. Pleasant!
